You grinned at Lady, nuzzling the nape of her neck. If she’s gonna play jokes, you will play along.
Your eyes are directed towards Sky, who seems like a lost puppy! Poor guy…
You untangle yourself from Lady and give him a quick hug, before stepping back.
With a grin you extend your arm to Scarlet.
” A pleasure to meet you, Scarlet~” and then you twirl towards Chris.
“You own this bar? Well, as a bartender myself, I have to say the setup is pretty cool—Oh, fucking hell my manners are rotten, my name is Tyrian.”
The new arrivant sure is lively! Things are slowly starting to be a mess, but you don’t mind the least bit. After all, if you didn’t want to see other people, you would have just stayed at home and ordered chinese or thaï food. Or maybe vietnamese. Or indian. Or korean. Gosh, so many kinds of spicy food, so little time! Anyway, back to the bar. You shake Tyrian’s hand politely.
“The pleasure is mine”, you smile.
You listen attentively to the others’ conversation.
“Oh miss Charcoal, so you can sing? I can’t wait to listen to you!”, you tell her, briefly claping your hands together for emphasis.
Chris raises a brow at Sky’s little blip. The fuck? That came out of honestly nowhere. Ty distracts him though, and he smiles at the handshake. “Well, thanks. I really do try to keep this place up as much as possible.” He laughs, and withdraws his hand, shooting a glance at Lady. He smiles. “Yeah, Grey, I bet everyone here’s just dying to hear you.”
“Don’t rush me, or you won’t be getting me up on that stage no matter how much you pay, mein liebe.” Lady’s response to him is a finely tempered mix of annoyance and playfulness, before her own attention returns to her friends with a smile. “But I do sing, actually. My family insisted on it, really. I needed to always be a bit of a centerpiece at the social gatherings.”
Her smiles fades a little in sheepishness. Was that too much like bragging? Flaunting her family’s status? She couldn’t hardly tell, anymore. Silence reigns for a moment, before she smiles and ducks a little. “Well! As marvelous as it is to see you, Ty, and meeting you, Ms. Scarlet, I really shoulder be going and joining the boys on stage.”
Hesitation, for a moment, like she’s lost track of her thoughts, before she ducks slightly and kisses Sky’s cheek, and then straightens and does the same to Ty - if throwing in a little more weight and pressure and smile to that kiss. Must keep up this joke, after all, if only for a short while longer. Then she winks at Scarlet, and
none for Chris, bye. Her movement resembles a slink in the low-backed dress, and she heads up to the stage, greeting Ricky and Tim each with kisses as well.
Without much ado, the band kicks up again, and she starts in on a smooth version of Hour After Hour.
Chris gives an appreciative sigh. “Now there’s a dame who can sing. Damn fucking shame she doesn’t enjoy it all that much.” He catches himself before he says too much more than that. She’d skin him alive, more than likely. So instead, he flashes a grin at the other two women. “Not that you both aren’t entirely wonderful birds. You are, I promise.” He looks at Sky then, and chuckles. “How about I handle the getting of drinks? Underage kid gets them, and I’ll be the one getting in trouble if there’s any cops around.”
There was no denying that Sky had some form of swag. Sure, it may not be everyone’s normal BRAND of charm, but lets face it. If you could bring and invite a bunch of lady friends to a bar, forget that you ever did so, and STILL get hugs and kisses and not have to pay for their drinks? That was pretty damn fly.
Too bad he wasn’t quite bright enough to realize what just happened. Instead, he gave a small pout and scooched a couple steps to the closest friendly face. “but I want to be a classy gentleman…” Classy gentlemen didn’t usually pout of course, but by now it didn’t seem to matter much anymore. “fine then. I want a roy rogers please, mister.” Something about ‘underage kid’ really got under his skin. Thankfully though, wrath wasn’t really his sort of sin. Even if Sky was grumpy for a moment, it quickly faded away as he stopped and listened to his friend sing. And boy could she. “why would she hate singing? she’s really good at it… !! miss scarlet, miss ty!” The boy smiled happily at the two women. “do you sing too? I bet you both sing really pretty! usually pretty people sing pretty!”
Beautiful as Lady’s singing was though… he was here on a mission. Hopefully it would run smoothly and an assassin wouldn’t come kill his best friend because that would be mean.
Ty waved at Lady, grinning.
“Oh, drinks? I want a Pink Cadillac kay?” As a professional bartender, she knew her drinks well.
She twirled around, looking at the place. “GodDAMN Lady can siiing!” And then she ruffled Sky’s hair again.
“I don’t, really, I mean I can sing as long as they’re like words not waaavy melodies and aww cutie thanks! Eheheh”
What you meant was that you could sing Bad List pretty well, but not My Heart Will Go On.
